Hi, I’m Dr. Asher Beckwitt

I know that life - and even thriving - after abuse is possible because I do it every day.


But the road to healing isn’t easy. The long-term impacts of what we’ve been through are real.


And that’s exactly why I created the SELF-HEAL Model.


You see, as a qualitative researcher (like Brene Brown), I’ve worked on over 5,000 studies and have decades of training and knowledge about trauma.


The big picture is: healing happens with support from other survivors.

Why Survivor-Informed Healing Is Effective

What Is SELF-HEAL?

The "SELF-HEAL" Model is a survivor-informed approach grounded in the real-life healing journeys of trauma survivors across various aspects of life, including safety, self-assessment, learning, forgiveness, health, empowerment, alignment, and unconditional love.


SELF-HEAL is an acronym for the 8 comprehensive steps that will empower you to ignite your inner healer.


The 8 steps are:


  • Safety
  • Evaluation
  • Learning & unlearning patterns
  • Forgiving yourself and others
  • Health
  • Empowerment/boundaries
  • Alignment
  • Loving yourself unconditionally & looking to the future


The framework gives you simple, yet profoundly effective skills to progress on your self-healing journey.
